I just received a comment that quoted the graffiti written over the Pride signs (see sidebar). Does that mean we've reached the original graffiti artist? I had hoped this person might be open to a discussion.
To everyone else, thank you for continuing the conversation!

There's a link to the banner on the sidebar, under photos; you can also see it at http://www.jessicaclements.com/sodomyis/.
I'm not sure I understand what you've put in quotes, but I certainly don't intend to hurt you. What do you understand me to be saying? I'll respond as best I can.
Hi Mutley (can I call you that?) Anyhow, my understanding of the banner is really based in what I heard of Jess's process, that she had found some of the original graffiti "Sodomy is a sin" and she literally erased the "sin"-- hence the banner echoes the altered graffiti "Sodomy is" -- and it is "sin"less... anyhow, that's my take...
I wanted to make sure and post that, amidst this discussion, we are planning to have one of the foremost activists in the transgender / transsexual movement, Kate Bornstein, speaking on Campus on October 17th, at 4:30 JC Cinema and then at 7:30 Hanover Hall.... as more official information / links come out I'll make sure to include that here, and for now there's some really great stuff on hir homepage that will get tongues wagging and people excited about hir visit:

Hi Jessica,
Marge Summerall, a dance program coordinator removed it Friday a.m. with one of her co-workers. I passed her in the hall and she asked if I knew who had made it. I said yes and that I believed that it was in response to the graffiti written over the pride signs. I believe she said that some students had approached her complaining about it and that she had then taken it down. She and the students didn't seem to understand your point. Give her a call, its 3-1376
Who painted the banner?
